Privacy Policy for QR Maker

QR Maker does not collect any personal data. It has no internet access, no analytics, and no third-party services. Everything you type stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. The app does not gather, store on our behalf, transmit, sell or share any personal information. We, the developers, never receive any data from your use of the app, because the app cannot send us any.

No internet access

QR Maker does not request the INTERNET permission on Android. In fact it requests no permissions at all. Without that permission the operating system itself prevents the app from opening any network connection, so there is no technical way for your content to leave your phone through the app.

What stays on your device

The app stores the following in its own private storage on your phone:

  • A history of up to the last 30 codes you have made: the type, a short label, the content of the code, the colours and settings you chose, and the time it was made. Where a code contains a Wi-Fi password, that password is part of the stored content.
  • Your preferences: default error correction level and image size, and whether history is kept at all.

This data is readable only by QR Maker. It is excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so it does not travel to Google's servers or to a new phone. You can delete it at any time:

  • Swipe a single entry away in the History screen.
  • Use Clear all in the History screen.
  • Turn Keep history off in Settings, which deletes everything already stored.
  • Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Third-party services and SDKs

There are none that collect data. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and no social or login SDKs. It does not use an Advertising ID.

The app includes the open source library ZXing (Apache License 2.0) to turn text into a QR code. It runs entirely offline on your device and sends nothing anywhere. Its full licence text is shown in the app under About → Open source licences.

Permissions

QR Maker declares no Android permissions. Saving an image uses the system "Save as" dialog, which grants access only to the one file you pick. Sharing an image hands a single temporary file to the app you choose. Neither requires storage access.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
